About this practice
ShareCraft does two things. It turns the way your organisation works into a practice other people can pick up and use. And it gives communities of practice a place that stays open between the meetings.
This manual covers using both, in three sections. Start with The basics if you are new. Using a practice covers the Practice Guide, resources, Practice Stories and Conversation, and gives a tour of the extra features in private practices. Using a community covers discussions, events, the knowledge base and groups.
Building a practice, starting a community and managing an organisation are in a second free practice, Authoring on ShareCraft.
Set your role at the top of the Practice Guide and it shows you only the chapters that concern you. We update it as the product changes.

Outcomes
You can find your way around without being shown. You know how to get a practice and join a community. You can use a practice day to day, including Practice Stories and Conversation. You can take part in a community and set your email the way you want it.
Evidence
Written by the ShareCraft team from the live app, and checked against it, in October 2026. Informed by a sector-informed review of ShareCraft by consultant Michelle Prasad, on how practitioners discover, understand, apply and share practice knowledge.

Every new member is given this manual when they join. Start with The basics. Set the role filter to New to ShareCraft, Practice user, Private practice user or Community member to see only your chapters. Organisations are welcome to use it in staff induction: it is CC BY 4.0.
